Using the King James Version as reference, this is a harmonized chronological narrative of the events from the Gospels of Matthew (Mt), Mark (Mk), Luke (Lk), and John (Jn). The narrative is structured into major sections with events listed in chronological order, including book, chapter, and verse references. The sequence is derived directly from the logical flow and timing indicators in the gospel texts themselves. Each narrative is in paragraph form with book, chapter, and verse, as appropriate. Immediately above the retelling narrative, contained in an collapsed "accordion", the retelling text is aligned side-by-side (for additional context) with the King James Version, the Original Greek, and a Hebrew & Syriac Peshitta translation.

1 In the very beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God right from the very start. 3 Everything that exists was made through Him, and not one single thing that was made came into being without Him. 4 In Him was life itself, and that life was the light that shines for all people. 5 The light shines brightly in the darkness, and the darkness has never been able to overcome it or understand it. 6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 John came as a witness so that he could tell everyone about the Light, and through his testimony all people might believe. 8 John himself was not the Light. He came only to point people toward the true Light. 9 The true Light that gives light to every single person was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and even though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize who He was. 11 He came to His own people, but His own people did not receive Him. 12 Yet to everyone who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. 13 These children were not born in the usual human way — not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man — but they were born of God. 14 The Word became a real human being and lived right among us. 5 In the days when Herod was king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah who belonged to the division of Abijah. His wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 6 Both of them were righteous in God’s sight and lived blamelessly according to all the commandments and regulations of the Lord. 7 But they had no children because Elizabeth was unable to have any, and they were both very old. 8 One day when Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God, 9 he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. 10 While the incense was being burned, a large crowd of people outside was praying. 11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. 12 When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and gripped with fear. 13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah. Your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John.” 14 He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth. 15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He must never take wine or any fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. 16 He will bring many of the people of Israel back to the Lord their God. 17 And he will go on before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. 18 Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.” 19 The angel said to him, “I am Gabriel.
